“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you shall glorify me.”
I love mornings. To me the best part of the day is just before the sun comes up. In the quietness of the day, the Lord speaks through His Word. This morning as I look out the window, the snow is falling. The huge snow flakes are covering the brown grass and pine trees. It is beautiful! It’s like the song, “Something beautiful, something good, all my confusion, He understood. All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife, but He made something beautiful out of my life.” Are you allowing life’s circumstances to keep Jesus from making your life beautiful?
I have to keep going back to the cross and lay my burdens down, but it is difficult to leave them there. Somehow we think we can put them before the Lord and then as we stand up and thank the Lord, we take them back and carry them. I have loved ones that I pray for daily, hoping that today will be the day that I receive a call that they have turned their lives over to Him.
This week, on A Place Missionaries Call Home, we will be talking to Joe, the plumber, Andy the real estate developer, and Scott the mad scientist. These three families are part of “the journey,” the reality radio program that we are doing on families. These folks are not only seeking God’s direction, but moving forward in the area of full time missions. The common thread you will see is that they run into troubles, too. Just because we are doing God’s will doesn’t keep us from being human.
We all run into days of discouragement and worry. We sometimes say, “God are you there?” We know He cares and has a definite plan for shaping our lives, our families, our ministries. But, God tells us to call upon Him in the day of trouble, and He has promised in His Word that He will deliver us. He wants to be a part of our daily walk. God created us because He wants our fellowship and love. If we did not have days of trouble, would we earnestly seek Him?
Today, dear friend, whether you are standing on the mountain top or walking in a deep valley, God is waiting for you. Underline Ps. 51:15 in your Bible, type it on your computer and share it with a friend. God has promised that in this, He will get the glory. Today, I ask you to pray for me, too. You are in my prayers today, and I pray that I am in yours. God is faithful and the best is yet to come!
