Take Time To Praise and Pray

A time to praise!

We praise the Lord that last Friday, August 12, 2011, we were able to purchase the 7.13 acres that we will use as Camp Glory. This property is truly an answer to prayer in more ways than one.

The Board of Directors, in their long range planning, looked at purchasing additional property that would become available, because we are landlocked. The property has a well and septic that could be used for a three bedroom home, and several outbuildings. There is also a driveway the full length of the property, which we can connect to Siloam at both ends with very little effort. The owner had an old trailer removed from the property prior to the closing. It also has a small spring fed pond. Had we not purchased this, the owner had another buyer waiting, as we were given first right of refusal.

We are excited as the property will be of great use to us, giving us room to expand. Currently, all of the space available for septic use has been filled.

The owner allowed us to extend the time to raise the funds twice, but only if we felt that we could raise the funds. Last Tuesday, we had $29,500 toward the $73,000, which included closing costs. Siloam had a friend and supporter of the ministry that offered to lend us the difference while we continue to raise the rest that is needed.

We are calling this “Camp Glory” in memory of our former board member, Tom DeYoung, who would always respond to Siloam’s blessings and challenges with the phrase, “Well, glory!” This will also give us a place for our volunteers to stay. We have been contacted by several RV groups who will come if we have the hookups.

Thank you for praying for us. We look forward to God’s blessings in our service to Him. We want our God to get all of the glory for this!
