Sacrifice – Good or Bad?

Ps. 107: 8,9,22 “Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness. And let them sacrifice the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.”

When you think of the word “sacrifice,” what comes to mind? Most of us think of having to give up something we love.

God does ask us to sacrifice various things in our lives, and many times, it is with great difficulty that we do so. But, have you ever thought about the sacrifice of thanksgiving? One sacrifice that pleases God is our thanks to Him for who He is and what He has done in our lives.

Take a moment to reflect on all of the blessings that God has given. No matter the trials you face, if you look deep, you will see the Lord’s goodness and His wonderful works in your life. Offer Him the sacrifice of praise and thanks. It will be a sweet aroma to Him.

Then, we are to declare His works with rejoicing. Here at Siloam Missionary Homes, we are a¬†faith based ministry – we rely on God’s provision for the needs through the gifts of His children. God is faithful to meet the needs and He blesses each day. Many times, the funds come in the very day they are due!
