I Will Be One... of the 109!
In April of 1992, Siloam Missionary Homes (S.M.H.) became incorporated as a 501(c)3 non profit organization. In October 1992, SMH purchased 16.5 acres at 1053 Quakenbush Rd, Snow Camp, NC. Since May of 1994, Siloam has acquired additional property and now has 13 homes on 26 acres, a Family Center, a chapel and Dad’s Country Store, which is a free food pantry for the missionary families. Siloam does not charge rent, but a small monthly maintenance fee and utilities. Tax-deductible contributions offset the true cost required to operate the ministry. Each of the missionary homes is subsidized by Siloam Missionary Homes at $40 per day.
SMH offers more than just a house. The missionary village environment provides fellowship, encouragement and a sense of belonging to these families.
S.M.H. is governed by a board of directors whose sole purpose is providing homes for missionaries. Siloam is not underwritten by any denomination or church. We rely totally on the gifts of God’s people.
The missionary does not pay rent, but only a maintenance fee and utilities. SMH is a non-profit ministry that is funded through the gifts of individuals and churches. Each of the missionary homes is supplemented by Siloam Missionary Homes at $1,200 per month. One of the affects of the economy has been a decrease in general fund support. God is able, and continues to meet our needs daily. But, this is why we are praying for 109!
What is the 109?
Individuals and families who have partnered to give $28 monthly to help Siloam Missionary Homes meet their monthly shortfall ($3,000). With your monthly gift, you can help SMH continue to provide a place for missionaries to call home.
